A time-served apprentice, Trevor (and Stan Borchard) established T&S Joiners in the mid-1960s. In 1970 they renamed the company Datum and both remain involved in the day-to-day management of the business. Trevor continues to be responsible for all issues relating to on-site implementation.

A time-served apprentice, Mick has over 20 years’ on-site experience with Datum.  Mick joined the management team in 1997 and his practical experience has been invaluable in seeking to continually improve working practices.

Ray Hill, Procurement Director

Ray is one of the original members of the Datum team and has been with the company for 35 years.  As procurement director he is responsible for making sure that the company gets the best price for all goods and services, in order to keep a competitive edge in the market place.

David Round, Business Development Director

David brings to Datum a wealth of experience across the broad spectrum of the interior industry having spent 20 years at Director level with market leading companies in the shopfitting and specialist joinery sectors.

In particular David has significant experience of managing partnering and framework agreements with various clients that have delivered real benefits to all parties and believes that either formally or informally this approach is the essence of all client relationships.

Robert Heddell, Technical Design Manager

Bob joined the company in 1985 and has been instrumental in the introduction of CAD systems.  The team of qualified staff, now all working on CAD, look to Bob's experience including his qualified professional support to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Colin Beard, Senior Contracts Manager

Colin has spent over 20 years in the shopfitting, joinery and exhibition sectors of the industry. Colin develops and maintains good working relationships with clients and their designated representatives on every project and ensures that projects are delivered on time and in budget.

Steve Wells, Chief Estimator

Steve joined the company in 1990 as estimator/surveyor, following his careeer as a qualified cabinet maker.  He moved to material buying and then to estimating and now manages the department, which is responsible for all the aspects of the estimating function .

Tim Collins, Commercial Manager

Tim has been with Datum for over 12 years and runs the commercial surveying department.  With over 25 years’ experience Tim is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Michael Tarrant, Health & Safety Advisor, Grad IOSH

Mike promotes a Health & Safety awareness culture within Datum to enable all employees, site installation teams and office staff to operate in a safe, risk-free environment. Mike is also responsible for the promotion and implementation of our environmental policy and quality management system, which are accredited to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, respectively.

Adam Borchard, Works Manager

Adam has been employed by Datum for 19 years having served his apprenticeship with the company and progressing through the various departments prior to being appointed to his current role. Adam is responsible for all of the company’s manufacturing operations and setting out department, and is rigorous in ensuring that Datum's renowned high standards are maintained.
