Welcome to DATA 8
As 2009 draws to a close it is time for reflection on what we achieved during the year and also to look forward to the New Year with growing optimism.
Despite 2009 being a difficult year we’re emerging from the downturn with new clients, a growing order book and a general sense that confidence is returning to the economy. We are also extremely grateful to our long-term and established clients that continued to work with us through the last 12 months.
During the year we continued to invest in our company and were delighted to have achieved two important accreditation standards, which are covered below. We are also putting the finishing touches to our new website, which we will be launching in the next few weeks, and I hope that you will enjoy exploring the revamped site.
One of our latest projects is the recently completed flagship store for Bryce Aime, one the UK’s most exciting new fashion designers, whose new store in Walton Street makes a bold and confident statement. We worked closely with Darryl Amos, creative director at Bentheim, whose futuristic design has been widely covered in the media.
As the new editor of DATA, I very much look forward to your feedback on this newsletter and on any aspects of our service.

Aiming high: stunning new flagship store for
London fashion designer
Working closely with London-based interior designers, Bentheim, we created the first flagship store for couturier Bryce Aime, which opened recently on Walton Street in the heart of London’s West End.
The impressive store features a light oak floor, which is set at a 45-degree angle to the walls. The black painted ceilings and upper walls contrast with areas of exposed brickwork, white columns and high gloss white lacquered merchandising units, seating, and cash desk, which all incorporate bold angular shapes. The bold angles are repeated in the low level catwalk, which is used as a platform to present Aime's extensive collection and leads customers through the store.
Datum’s setting out and technical team worked hand-in-hand with Bentheim's creative director, Darryl Amos, to ensure that the complex interior was built exactly in line with the design intent and specification. Bentheim's highly individual design scheme required Datum to individually craft each element of the interior fit-out; the result is a stunning flagship store entirely appropriate to an increasingly sought-after fashion designer.
"We were delighted with the quality of Datum's craftsmanship for our
flagship store and their professional conduct from start to finish.
Their attention to detail is second to none and the new store has been
extremely well received by our discerning customers." Bryce Aime,
designer
Bryce d’Anice Aime arrived in London in 1998 and in 2005 he graduated from Central St Martin’s with a BA in Fashion Design. In February 2006 he launched his own label and has been regularly featured in the leading international fashion titles.
Accreditation double for Datum
We are delighted to have achieved two international accreditation standards: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems and procedures, and demonstrates that at Datum we have a clearly defined management systems in place that will improve efficiencies and enhance our customer service.

ISO 14001 underpins and formalises Datum’s green credentials and shows that the company is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. Whether guaranteeing that the company’s raw materials are from sustainable sources or that they have a policy to minimise waste and maximise recycling, ISO 14001 will make a positive statement to suppliers and customers.
Commenting on the accreditation awards David Round, business development director, said: “In spite of tough trading conditions we continue to invest in our company and we are delighted to have been awarded these prestigious environmental and management standards that show a commitment to the environment, our staff and our customers. Any company wishing to appoint an environmentally sound shopfitting company need look no further.”
