DESIGNED FOR LIVING

Private Residence

We were appointed by London-based designers, Bentheim, to completely refurbish and redecorate the interior of an impressive private residence in Buckinghamshire, in collaboration with the owners.

The project included all enabling works, re-plastering all areas for high quality re-decoration; new solid oak parquet flooring throughout the ground and first floors; new plumbing, electrics and lighting.

THE RIVERSIDE MUSEUM GLASGOW

Riverside

Datum is delighted to have been appointed to undertake the fit-out and specialist joinery package for the retail shop, cafe, cloakroom and office areas in Glasgow’s new Riverside Museum.

Glasgow’s well-loved Museum of Transport will relocate to this spectacular waterfront landmark that was designed by internationally-renowned architect, Zaha Hadid. The dynamic new Riverside Museum will display Glasgow’s rich industrial heritage which stems from the River Clyde along with its internationally important transport collections.

The new museum is due to open in the summer of this year.

MISSONI BOND STREET

Lotus

We have just been appointed to fit out a major new store in Bond Street for international luxury fashion retailer Missoni who already trade in the UK from an existing store in Sloane Street and a concession in Harrods. The work on 4 levels involves structural alterations, new staircases, limestone flooring, the full range of mechanical and electrical services, as well as high quality shopfitting and specialist finishes to the highest standards, reflecting the exclusive quality of the Missoni brand in the major fashion capitals around the globe.

January 2011

START YOUR ENGINES

Lotus

During 2010 London-based design consultancy, Amos and Amos, was appointed to develop a new corporate identity design for Lotus Cars’ motor show stand, which started with the design of an exhibition stand at the Paris Motor Show where a range of stunning new premium sports cars were launched.

Based on their experience at delivering similarly high profile bespoke interior and exhibition fit-outs Datum was called in to work on various specialist elements for the Paris stand, which was highly acclaimed by the worldwide motoring press as the most eye-catching and innovative in Paris.”

HISTORIC APPOINTMENT FOR DATUM

Imperial War Museum

Datum was appointed by London-based design practice, Michael O’Sullivan Design Limited, to work at the Imperial War Museum London on a front-of-house refurbishment at the Lambeth Road site. The the objective of the scheme, known as the “Welcome Project”, was to enhance the visitor experience.

Commenting on the project Michael O’Sullivan said: “Datum takes evident pride in its work; their care and level of finish is very good, which I think could rightly be described as ‘craftsmanship’.”

NEW WORKS MANAGER

Datum is delighted to announce that Adam Borchard, who has been employed by Datum for 19 years (having served his apprenticeship with the company) has been promoted to the position of Works Manager. Adam has worked in and successfully progressed through every department in the company, and it is this significant experience that he brings to his new role.

DATUM QUALITY ON SHOW AT OGILVY OFFICES

Datum Contracts International completed a project at Ogilvy’s Cabot Square offices in Canary Wharf, London, working with award-winning London-based architects, Spacelab and main contractor BW Interiors.

Commenting on Datum’s involvement with the Ogilvy scheme Colin MacGadie of Spacelab said: “We were delighted with the quality of finish that Datum achieved, having interpreted our requirements to deliver an innovative, but cost-effective design, by working closely with us through the drawing stage right through to signing off the highly individual pieces of feature joinery in their works prior to going on site. Datum again delivered to very high standards and we are impressed with the results.”

DATUM SCHEME SHORTLISTED FOR RETAIL DESIGN AWARD

Working closely with London-based interior designers, Bentheim, we created the first flagship store for couturier Bryce Aime, which opened on Walton Street in the heart of London’s West End.

DATUM DELIVERS ASTON MARTIN'S NEW RETAIL CONCEPT

Datum was delighted to have been involved in delivering Aston Martin's first dedicated merchandising outlet known as the "Aston Martin Store Nurburgring" at the world famous race track in Germany.

Working closely with Imagination, the international design consultancy, Datum was responsible for translating the concept design into working drawings, prototyping various design elements, manufacturing a range of merchandise fittings and display cases, providing specialist joinery and completing the shop in time for the German Grand Prix.

Datum Contracts International has achieved two prestigious international accreditation standards: ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems and procedures, and demonstrates that Datum has a clearly defined management system in place that will improve efficiencies and enhance customer service.

Datum's green credentials are underpinned by ISO 14001, which shows that the company is committed to reducing its impact on the environment.

DATUM'S SCHEMES SHORT LISTED FOR AWARDS

Two of Datum's retail schemes have been shortlisted for awards at the forthcoming Retail Interiors Awards 2009.

Marie-Chantal's flagship store on Sloane Street, designed by Bentheim, has been nominated in the "Best Small Shop Category" and Hackett's store at Westfield, London, has been nominated in "The NAS Shopfitting Excellence Awar" category.

NEW FLAGSHIP STORE FOR INTERNATIONAL CHILDRENSWEAR BRAND

Marie-Chantal, an established international luxury childrenswear retailer, commissioned London-based interior designers, Bentheim, to create their flagship store in London.

Commenting on this project, Bentheim's creative director, Darryl Amos said:
